Pediatric Developmental Assessment

Paediatric Developmental Assessment is an attempt to asses various aspect of a child under 3 years of age, as to the child’s functioning, including areas such as cognition, communication, behavior, social interaction, motor and sensory abilities and adaptive skills. During assessment the focus is to find out the child’s performance compared with children of similar age. Assessment is usually done with a questionnaire or checklists based on research. It asks questions about how your child grows and changes over meeting the typical milestones in playing, learning speaking behaving and moving. A missed milestone could be a sign of a problem. An assessment does not necessarily

provide a diagnosis at early months of infancy, but it indicates if a child is on the right development track. Assessments identifies an area of concern. In Raaga we have Specialists, like Speech Language Pathologists, Rehabilitation Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Special Educators who can observe and provide you a formal evaluation which determines whether a child needs special treatments or early intervention services or both.
